About propagation

Propagation automatically applies coding values to related documents when you use coding forms or quick tags. Review Managers or higher roles can enable or disable propagation in Project Settings>Review. You can choose to propagate coding by family, email thread, near duplicates, or any combination of these methods.

You must configure propagation for a field in a coding form. When you add or edit a coding form, you can enable propagation for Single Choice, Multiple Choice, or Short Text fields. When enabled, the system displays a Propagation icon next to the field in the Coding Form dialog box in the Document Viewer. When you code this field, the Propagation dialog box appears. The methods that appear in the dialog box reflect the methods chosen in Project Settings. The Propagation dialog box allows you to select one or more propagation methods or skip propagation.

When enabled, all quick tags inherit propagation behavior. Note that propagation does not apply to bulk tagging.
